If you have always wanted an ally in your job search who is not beholden to an employer and the fee they earn from them and is there to answer your questions and help you . . . you are in the right place.
If you have always wanted to know someone in the business who can help you, who knows what he or she is talking about, and isn’t trying to sell you into a job to make a big commission. . . you are in the right place.
If you’re someone who has never:
Had a submitted resume fail to get an interview
Struggled to write or update your resume
Gotten a bad reference
Had an applicant tracking system reject your candidacy
Struggled with networking
Struggled with sourcing a hiring manager
Attended a job fair and walked out
Been rejected after a job interview (1st, 2nd, 3rd or more, or final interview)
Lost a salary negotiation conversation
Included a cover letter that was useless with your resume
Have a LinkedIn profile that people skipped over and not contact you
Wondered what the hell that recruiter meant by something
Had a company not call you back
Had a recruiter at a search firm ignore you
Submitted your resume to a job ad and not gotten a response
Received a counteroffer and been unsure how to respond
This site is not for you!
A Job Search Coach?
Whether you call it a job search coach, a job coach or something else, a job search coach works with you to help you navigate the minefield of a job search. After all, I’m sure you realize that corporate recruiters don’t have your interests in mind when they are evaluating you for a position. And, of course, third part recruiters, no matter what rationalization they provide you with, work for the employers who pay them, hiding or “finessing” pieces of intelligence to support their paying customer.
Many of you rely on friends, family, even former managers for advice but, unfortunately, most of these well-meaning advisers know as little or little more than you do about the job search process, even if they have hired people for their organizations. After all, they know what they know from their own experience and that may be completely different than what your circumstances are. From my career as a recruiter, trust me when I tell you how poorly many of these well-meaning people do managing their own job search!
You hire a job coach or job search coach to help you navigate the choppy waters of a job search. They are not professional resume writers (although some do that). What they are is your ally in the job search, answering your questions about situations that are going on, offering advice on every element of your search including being a trusted adviser in deciding about a job offer.
After all, the next recruiter who has arranged for an interview for you that results in a job offer that tells you to turn down the offer may be the first one to ever do so, After all, for contingency recruiters, they are working for free until you work at a client of theirs that hires you and remain there for, generally, 90 calendar days.
Because they are not getting “a big payday” for having you join their client, their advice is not tainted by that hanging over their heads.

“Great practical advice in real world scenarios. I have watched a lot of Jeff’s videos and taken some good notes on the different subjects he talks about. Definitely helped change my perspective and increased my interview and negotiating skills.”
“Thank you Jeff, you helped get my wife a position in a great company where she made them her BIT&% (excuse the language) in the interview process..JUST PROVING A POINT THAT YOUR ADVICE WORKS!!!!!” SHE WENT FROM BEING A SCARED $10.00 AN HOUR TO RUNNING THE INTERVIEW WITH YOUR ADVICE. It was a 3 EMPLOYERS against one (HER) INTERVIEW SHE IS A VERY INTELLIGENT (TIMID GIRL) TO MOST, (NOT TO ME OR THE KIDS) (AND GOD FORBID ANYONE WHO TRIES TO CROSS MAMA BEAR OR OUR FAMILY) NICOLE MINOR IS EXTREMELY SMART, CARING, GIVING, AND THE BEST PERSON, (FRIEND, MOM, AND WIFE OF 24 YEARS AS OF THIS COMING JUNE 24TH 2016, THAT I HAVE EVER KNOWN.) SHE HAS NEVER HAD THE CONFIDENCE IN HERSELF TO ADVANCE IN HER CAREER, NOR interviews, and when she surprised them with YOUR QUESTION, the room went silent!!! They were speechless!!! They told her they had never been asked that question….. in an interview… with your video ” In a year down the road, if I have net every goal, beyond what you expected, what would I have accomplished”?? AGAIN THE ROOM WENT SILENT!!!! THEY HIRED HER THE NEXT DAY!!!! You are the man!!!!!”
“I am your huge fan and I really want to say thank you!! Your videos helped me a lot and I got an internship that I wanted so badly!”
” . . . your video content is really great. Its well presented and well prepared. It really helps.”
“It’s Monday morning here in Seattle and I’m about to have my round of seven on-site interviews with Amazon (the final process). I went looking through your videos one last time to see if I missed anything and voilà! I found the one about correcting mistakes (re salary expectations). Thank you!”
“I went thru your videos for some days prior to my Interview here in Melbourne. They helped me a lot and because of your quality of work and the fact that it bought value to my life (my job here)”
However, I listened to your podcasts and read (reading) your online articles. Your advice has reinvigorated my job search and I am seeing increased interest after applying some of your ideas in just one day.”

“Jeff is a fabulous person. What makes him terrific goes far beyond his business skills – we all know about them – they are in a word – spectacular. Why I find my relationship with Jeff so valuable is that he show an authentic desire to help each of his clients – whether it be the employer seeking to fill a position or a potential employee looking for a new position, Jeff is very sincere and talks you through the process – not only the financials but from a holistic standpoint.”
“This is easy, Jeff is simply the most competent, ethical, and smart head hunter I have ever worked with. In fact, he is so smart I steal ideas from him. I do not know anyone with Jeff’s breadth of depth of knowledge in the business of finding the right job for the right person. His exceptionally high ethical standards are not just another plus, they are the basis for his work.”
“Jeff is a no time waster; he gives practical and useful advice and straight to the point guidance. I very much appreciate his unique style of reaching out to his audience, which will quickly catch your attention and make you want more direction. Absolutely fascinating!”
