Welcome to JobSearchCoachingHQ.com! › Forums › Tough Interview Questions › Finish This Sentence– Most People I Meet Are ___
Tagged: Most People I Meet Are . . .
Once I give you the two wrong answers, you can handle the rest.
Curveball questions. Tough interview questions. However you want to describe it, it’s something that’s designed to break you, expose you, do something that’s going to take you off the script of what did you do and how did you do it.
So, this question can be asked at the final. This question could be asked, really, at any point during the job search.
“Most people I meet are (fill in the blank).” I’m going to repeat that one. “Most people I meet are (fill in the blank).”
Here’s two wrong answers. Number one . . . anything ambiguous.
“You know, they’re interesting. Yeah, most people I meet are Interesting.”
“Interesting” can be code for something critical. This leads to the second option– a negative answer. Answering a question that is either directly or indirectly a negative about most people. What does that say about you and your attitude toward others? You’re going to be working with other people, whether you’re in a leadership or a staff role, and organizations want to create an environment that fosters collaboration.
When you answer in a way that’s negative, you hurt yourself. It’s maybe enough to knock you out of contention, because it makes them scratch their head and wonder whether they’re hiring someone else’s problem.
