Job Search Coaching
Whether you call it a job search coach or job coach, in case you haven’t noticed, job hunting is not a game that is set up to benefit you. You already know that you won’t get impartial advice from corporate recruiters and, of course, any advice you receive from agency recruiters is tainted because they are being paid by corporations to get you to go to work for their clients. How impartial would you be if you were not going to paid unless you sold someone on taking a job you represented and that person represented fees of between $20,000 and $100,000 or more? I suspect you wouldn’t be particularly impartial and neither are they.
Friends? Family? Former managers?
Often they know little more than you do about job hunting even if they have hired a lot of people for themselves. That’s because they know what they want and how to evaluate for it but don’t know how other people do it. Having worked with people from a manager level and above for what seems like 100 years, senior professionals are often terrible job hunters!
Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter is a job search coach who is your ally in the job search. He was an executive recruiter for many years and people love his work. Read what people have said about him in unsolicited comments. Watch a few recent testimonials.
A job search coach looks out for your interests in your job search.
Jeff, in particular, has an extraordinary amount of experience. Many of you have heard about the 10,000 hour rule that Malcolm Gladwell popularized in the book, “Outliers.” Gladwell wrote that it takes 10,000 of focused effort to master a skill. In “Outliers,” he points to The Beatles and Bill Gates as examples of how 10,000 hours of focused experience results in expert status. Job search coaching can be a difference maker for you.

Job search coaches or job coaches are not all alike. Some work in government offices and claim to be job search consultants offering pablum to job hunters that hasn’t been helpful for a decade. It is so obsolete that it was last helpful when people faxed resumes to job ads they saw in newspapers.
Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter has 10,000 hours of job coaching and executive recruiting experience . . . times 9 helping people find new jobs! More than 90,000 of recruiting, job counseling and job coaching experience, evaluating resumes, working closely with firms that hire talent, learning and understanding how they evaluate potential new hires at all levels, preparing people for all kinds of interviews, critiquing resumes and LinkedIn profiles (Jeff was member 7653 on LinkedIn), negotiating salary for people, as well as resigning positions.
